The Studio.

Who is behind the studio?

Camille Pianel

What is your background?

I studied textile design in Lyon. After an internship at Minakani, I started freelancing. I also followed a lot of training around color and entrepreneurship after my degree, as well as Photoshop and Illustrator. âpre have put my design in the studio Cymé. Today I work for brands such as IZIMI porto Vecchio, miriguet square, Stof Yve delorme world fabric 4 mures, Bonomo, Pascale editions, Zazou edition, ...

And tomorrow I will be delighted to put all this experience at the service of your company to find with you the pattern that will generate the most graphic emotions in your customers.

Describe your style.

I am said to be a "multi-tasker", meaning that I am able to take on several styles to match the style of the company I will be working for.

What are your main inspirations / influences ?

I am inspired by ancient, medieval and aboriginal ornaments, from art nouveau to art deco through the Renaissance, from Viollet-Le-Duc, Carl Larsson, Miro to Beatriz Milhazes, without forgetting the touch of different mediums, and the magic of computer tools.

Describe your creation process.

I start by making sketches of the collection or order.

Then I make a first draft of the design I imagine in my head, then I create the fitting of that design (digitally) before redrawing it by hand.

I juggle a lot between hand and digital, using the scanner and the printer.

And if you need a particular order after a discussion with you where we establish together a BRIEF I realize some sketches which will allow us to work on a base after validation of this base I realize the motives on which you will be able to make up to three round trips and on which you will have two ranges colors. According to the BRIEF and the estimate we can also imagine the creation of tendency upstream, the realization of colored range.

One of my particularities is to be passionate about the repetition of the pattern and I also realize the digital files of archives which allows you to have a finished digital file ready to print an archive of drawing that you would have in your company

What is your favorite medium to work with and why?

Uniball pens, watercolor pens and recently the iPencil.

What is your job's favorite part ?

The meetings with my clients, when I discuss their projects with them.

And the creation of the connection so that the drawing is repeated indefinitely in space and will have only for limit the object or the surface which it decorates.

What type of product / sector do you mainly work for ?

Fashion a lot of scarf and now a lot of wallpaper.

On which fairs do you exhibit?

I have already exhibited at Playtime, Première Vision and print days

I was also present at maison et objets in early 2020 with my wallpaper collection.

What do you want to accomplish in the future?

I would like to develop the eco-design sector to design motifs that use graphic techniques related to different ornamental techniques with less environmental effect and a strong graphic impact.
