The Studio.
What is your background?
I completed a two-year education degree in textile design and then I had the opportunity to do an exchange abroad (in England) for another year. When I came back, I took a master's degree in textile design too. After that, I had the chance to work for a childrenswear company, as a graphic designer and illustrator. It lasted a year and a half and I learnt a lot from that first work experience. Now I am working as a freelancer.
Describe your style.
I have a very narrative and colourful style. As a good textile designer I love floral and plant prints.
What are your main inspirations / influences ?
I have to admit I find a lot of inspiration on Instagram. This social media is very good to discover talented makers and illustrators. But I am also a fond reader and anything cultural can inspire me really.
What sets off your passion for prints?
When I was a child I had that bed linen with funky fruits printed on it (from Ikea) I remember it very well and I think that's when I started noticing and liking pretty patterns.
What is your favorite medium to work with and why?
I love drawing with coloured pencils, it gives a soft aspect to an illustration. I also find amazing all the possibilities allowed by digital drawing.
While working, what do you listen?
I'll go for Indie-rock and Indie-folk music mostly. I have a weakness for 80's New Wave though !
What is your job's favorite part ?
I enjoy illustrating, even more when I have to draw girls, plants or interiors.
What do you want to accomplish in the future?
I'd like to be able to show my work during trade shows.
