Myriam & Cyril

What is your background?

We are both from art school, we have been working in graphic design for over 20 years. Passionate about and inspired by the research and discovery of various graphic universes, we experiment our skills on multiple medium.

Describe your style.

Le Pointillé offers a variety of prints resulting from the studious but joyful atmosphere of the studio. Always in questioning, our textual, musical and visual exchanges lead us to create a singular universe resembling us both. Our graphic style is defined by our name ('dotted line' / Pointillé) . Precision, detail, abundance and narration are the 4 cardinal points of Le Pointillé.

What are your main inspirations / influences ?

Our influences are marked by a curiosity unceasingly nourished by our daily life, our family, our travels and our dicovery.

Which place inspires you the most?

Paname, paname, paname...

What sets off your passion for prints?

Cyril : The circus, a subject of study that allowed me to enter Duperré
Myriam: The family tapestry, each room was marked by a so British floral patterns!

Your first print memories.

First screen printing on the frame for textile printing with connection to the photocopy in 6 colors.

Describe your creation process.

Sketching, drawing on multiple supports and finally mount to the fitting on a computer.

What is your favorite medium to work with and why?

Paper, ink, pencil, watercolor and iPad. Tools that allow drawing line to reveal themselves.

While working, what do you listen?

Always in music and according to our mood!

What is your job's favorite part ?

The inner journey.

What type of product / sector do you mainly work for ?

Fashion, decoration and stationery.

On which fairs do you exhibit?

Première Vision et Les Prints Days.

The meeting with a nice brand with which we still collaborate today.

What do you want to accomplish in the future?

Confirm our international presence.

The biggest challenge you had to handle as a designer?

An order of 25 unique designs for a particular collection in record time!

What advice would you like to give to new designers who are just starting out?

Loving your job is a passion above all and staying confident over time!

Have you seen the profession change?

Yes ! It has changed production time. Drawing takes precedence over fitting ;-)

Do you like or regret things about this change?

More and more drawing is great!
