Who is behind the studio?

What is your background?

I studied textile design at Tama Fine Arts in Tokyo and came to France in 2003. After working for 10 years with Barbara Rihl, I started to present my designs at the première vision show in 2016.

Describe your style.

Poetic and naive.

What are your main inspirations / influences ?

I am very inspired by Japanese and French culture.

Which place inspires you the most?

Museums, The architecture of different cities in different countries.

What sets off your passion for prints?

My grandmother wove fabric for kimonos (oshima tsumugi) and my mother made patchwork as a hobby. There were lots of pieces of fabric at home and through that I discovered patterns and colours.

Describe your creation process.

I research ideas and trends and then draw on the i pad or using a black marker to create elements. Then I export the elements to my software to create and colour the designs.

What is your favorite medium to work with and why?

I mainly draw on ipad pro. I like to use the software and discover new functions. But I also like to sketch with pen and felt pen.

What is your job's favorite part ?

I like to mix ideas to give new life to my drawings.

What type of product / sector do you mainly work for ?

I work for fashion and home decoration.

What do you want to accomplish in the future?

I would like to work more on interior design.

The biggest challenge you had to handle as a designer?

Working with a company to decorate a child's room.
