The Studio.
What is your background?
After 15 years in the audiovisual industry, I took the plunge in 2018 to return to my first passions, drawing and textiles. Coming from a family of weavers and textile designers, this return to my roots seemed obvious.
I then took a long training course in textile design and I am now ready to present you my designs!
Describe your style.
I like to work on my collections in different styles to offer designs that fit into a variety of universes, from the general public to the most cutting-edge brands.
But they all have one thing in common: a rhythmic composition for a beautiful energy and a refined range of colours for luminous patterns!
What are your main inspirations / influences ?
I am inspired by the spirit of the times. I am observant and I love to spot the little signs of novelty, of trends. I then link all this to my natural influences such as my favourite painters, film atmospheres, urban or natural spaces, and above all plants... This creates a mixture of styles which gives my graphic personality!
Describe your creation process.
When I work on my own collections, I usually have a very specific design idea in mind. I start making it, I make several drawings and from there a theme appears (which sometimes has nothing to do with my original design idea!). But this is often the most interesting part because the graphic research has taken me much further in the creation. And I can then develop a collection from this theme.
What is your favorite medium to work with and why?
I always draw by hand before using softwares. I work a lot with Indian ink, watercolour, gouache and felt pen. I love the way a hand drawn line looks, you can feel the life in the design.
What is your job's favorite part ?
I love the moment in the creative process when everything comes together, and once the ideas have blown around, they start to come to life in a concrete way and are expressed in a coherent whole.
What type of product / sector do you mainly work for ?
I mainly design for women's fashion, children, home, and recently for stationery.
