What is your background?
After graduating as a textile designer at LISAA, I continued my studies at MOD'SPE to complete my profile with a marketing contribution. I went back to creating in trend offices and working in integrated then freelance as a stylist-graphic designer for different actors of the children fashion sector (style offices and brands).
Describe your style.
I mix hand drawing and computer work with an imput of a playful or poetic touch as well as tender and acidulous colors. I have an eclectic style working both naive figuratives and geometric abstracts.
What are your main inspirations / influences ?
I create pattern collections from trends observation and arty or daily inspirations.
Everything can be a source of inspiration: an exhibition, illustrations of children’s books, an urban landscape, nature, a look..
Which place inspires you the most?
Several places inspire me: a space in the heart of nature, the seaside, the cities with multicoloured architecture or a beautiful shop full of thousand finds!
What sets off your passion for prints?
The discover of the BTS « textile creation » at the school Duperré
Your first print memories.
I think I have always preferred color and patterns to product design, as well as formal art (like Rothko, P. Klee, Calder, Matisse, etc.) to conceptual art.
I remember being an admirer when I first discovered the Designers Guild motifs by Tricia Guild.
Describe your creation process.
I create moodboards throughout the season with various iconographies (illustrations, fashion, painting, archi..), color ranges, I do some sketcches in notebooks and I engage in the creation of patterns.
What is your favorite medium to work with and why?
Start drawing, add a little color pencil or watercolor and then mix it all on the computer:)
While working, what do you listen?
Pop, soul playtlists and some podcast on the radio France inter ;)
What is your job's favorite part ?
Starting from an idea, drawing it and being the closest to this first idea.
What type of product / sector do you mainly work for ?
These pattern collections are intented to textile fabric, baby, children and womenswear, wallpaper, paper mill and decoration sector.
On which fairs do you exhibit?
Playtime et Première Vision Designs (first time in february 2020) and Printdays, organised by La Trame.
What do you want to accomplish in the future?
Continue, expand the client network and have ecclectic missions.
The biggest challenge you had to handle as a designer?
Cross the line and exhibit at PV Designs!
What advice would you like to give to new designers who are just starting out?
Create, surround yourself with a network and persevere! 😊
Have you seen the profession change?
With Covid, the working conditions, how to engage with customers and showcase their collections have changed. This whole context led to a reflexion on another way to show my work and meet clients.
Do you like or regret things about this change?
This led to the creation of the Printdays and, as a result, a more intimate show that seems to suit more the desires and needs of graphic designers and customers, which is a good thing! : )
