Who is behind the studio?
Perrine Moisan from Brittany, 30, adventurer and positive !
What is your background?
After a Master degree in graphic design at « Lisaa » in Rennes and one year in motion design at « Gobelins l’école de l’image » in Paris, I co founded the Ouistiti studio, a stationnery and decoration accessories brand which unfortunately closed in 2018. Then I integrated the marketing department of Ekyog as a graphic and textile designer until january 2020. Today, I am a free lance graphic and textile designer. I am based in Rennes in a co- working place.
Describe your style.
My style is girly, colourful, childish, vegetal and cool.
What are your main inspirations / influences ?
I mostly find inspiration in the nature when I go for walks in the forest or at the seaside .
Which place inspires you the most?
I draw a lot in the morning when I travel in my van, waking each morning in a different place is a new source of inspiration everyday.
Your first print memories.
A Oilily red flowery dress I used to wear when I was in nursery school.
Describe your creation process.
I take a lot of photographs before drawing by hand, then I work again on my drawings on my computer.
What is your favorite medium to work with and why?
I’m keen on brush painting either with paint or watercolour. I also quite like crayons and black felt pens.
What is your job's favorite part ?
When my creations and patterns become real products.
What type of product / sector do you mainly work for ?
At the moment, I work on patterns for stationnery products, birth cards and textile products for my own brand Atelier Nougatine.
On which fairs do you exhibit?
As a textile designer, I don’t have any particular exhibition place at the moment but I have already exhibited on Playtime and MO with my past brand Ouistiti.
Your best fairs memories.
The atmosphere and the energy you can feel in the big halls when the stalls are being settled, a real hive of activity.
The biggest challenge you had to handle as a designer?
Creating a brand from start to finish and selling my products in interior shops and stores.
What advice would you like to give to new designers who are just starting out?
Be self - confident and patient !
